The Andrie Jack-Up Barge just completed a project at the D.C. Cook Plant (about 10 miles south of St. Joseph, Michigan).

Mateco Drilling Company, out of Rockford, Michigan, chartered the barge to be used as a drilling platform.  The project consisted of taking 5 borings, 1000 feet apart, approximately 600’ down in the lakebed to test the bottom conditions for a possible expansion of the existing intake pipeline at the plant. Leonard Zaug, Andrie’s Project Manager, said “Having the Jack-Up Barge on the job provided a stable drilling platform for the drillers.  This allowed them to complete all 5 borings without interruption due to weather.  The Jack-Up Barge was about 1 mile offshore for the job."
